sub-contractors, thus allowing us full
control of the construction process. We have

with heavy equipment.
Residential Design Build—The Process
Our staff of professionally trained individuals is here to identify your landscape needs and develop a plan for implementation. Ferrari Designs Inc. is a full-service design/build company, serving the Bay Area since 1982. From the initial phone call through installation and a final walk-through, our exceptionally skilled staff is here to provide you the highest quality of professional landscape installation available in the area.
Site Consultation
The initial phone call to Ferrari Designs will begin the process of determining your landscape needs. Once your general needs are established, an appointment for a site consultation will be set with our landscape architect or designer to meet with you at your property. During the site consultation, we will discuss in detail how you want to use your outdoor space. If it is determined that a comprehensive design is needed, a design fee will be assessed for the specific area(s) of interest. Design fees are based on the size of your project and the amount of detail required for the design development.
Design Process
The design procedure begins by measuring the site and taking digital photographs. A plan is required to determine property lines and to confirm existing features. A design will be developed to scale, including existing features, and will incorporate the concepts discussed during the site consultation.
Proposal
Once the design is complete, a presentation will be scheduled with you, so you can review the design. A contract will be included that proposes the installation cost of your project. Proposals can be broken into predetermined phases based on your established budget for the project.
Installation
Your project will be assigned to one of our highly skilled landscape build crews. Our foremen are proud to offer you the craftsmanship and attention to detail that you expect with a professional installation. Through years of experience and certification training, our crews are here to provide you with the highest quality installation of planting beds, stone walks, walls, and patios. We are certified installers of concrete pavers through Cal-Stone and Pacific Interlocking paver companies.
Review Appointment
Upon the completion of your installation, an appointment will be scheduled with your designer to review the various components of your projects. We guarantee all of our work. During the review of your project, you will be given complete plant care instructions.
A. Base Plan
Field check project area, locate structures,
existing plants, note approximate elevations
of key points. Prepare plan at 1/8" scale or
other standard scale as deemed appropriate.
B. Demolition Plan
Indicate all elements to be removed,
transferred to other locations within the
site, and/or transplanted.
C. Layout Plan
Show existing and proposed construction
elements and major tree planting. New
elements shall include, but not be limited
to, paving, structures, swimming pools,
spas, fountains, wood decking, seating,
lighting, and fencing.
D. Grading Plan
Show existing and proposed grades. Indicate
degree of slope, valleys, high and low
points, top of wall elevations, top of curb
elevations, and other key elements.
E. Drainage Plan
Indicate layout of subdrain pipe system.
Show inlet locations, downspout connections,
and catch-basins.
F. Irrigation Plan
Indicate type, size, and location of all new
sprinkler heads. Locate and specify valves,
controllers, hose bibs, backflow devices,
adn main connections.
G. Planting Plan
Indicate type, size, and location of all new
plants, groundcover, and turf areas.
Recommendations on soil amendments, top
dressing, and fertilizer.
H. Construction Details and Specifications
Prepare large scaled drawings showing
different views of various new elements as
necessary.
